Process Analysis This process analysis highlights the importance of selecting the appropriate tools and techniques for each step, which is essential when designing a modular drill attachments that is versatile enough to handle a variety of tasks. By understanding the individual steps required for each task, one can take the next steps in developing a modular drill system that is both efficient and effective.
Prototyping & Testing Completing all the necessary steps of market research, product analysis, user research, process analysis, prototyping, and testing is crucial to develop an innovative approach on a technical and design-wise level.
Model Making Prototyping and testing allow for the development and refinement of the product, ensuring that it meets user needs and expectations. By incorporating both technical and design elements, a product can be optimized for both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

User Interface To avoid interruptions during the workflow, the modular drill´s UI can be understood and controlled easily. By simply moving the thumb, users are able to change and control the settings of the screwdriver. Carefully swiping or pressing guarantees an adjustment of the setting according to the users needs during the workflow.
Modular Drill Changing the most common bold screwdriver style into a more futuristic and less flashy design, increases the impression of a high quality and precise drill. The handling of the modular drill can be extended from the one hand use with two modules to a two hand use in case a third module is attached. The technical design context, in which this project took place required a working prototype in the end.
This project was conducted in cooperation with Dominik Schöppner (fellow student).
